Otisfield mom Kimberly Bell, a school nurse for elementary schools in Otisfield and Oxford, is used to taking care of more than 500 children – in addition to her own two sons at home.
She’s not used to people looking after her. "To be taken care of and pampered for an afternoon is heaven," she said. "This is a blast!"

The fact that her makeover was a gift from Raising Maine and Bei Capelli made it even more enjoyable, she said. "I would feel terrible taking money out of my family’s budget to spend time on me. I wouldn’t do it."

Kimberly said her family is extremely close-knit, with the four of them going almost everywhere together. While she wouldn’t have it any other way, she rarely gets time to herself. When asked about her beauty routine, she said, "Getting vertical is a plus – after that, everything else is frosting on the cake. My showers are usually accompanied by my 4-year-old."

Kimberly was in the competent hands of stylist Erin Eastman for her “blast” of an afternoon.

ERIN'S THOUGHTS
"Kim loved her natural color, so we added two different shades of caramel to bring out the gold in her eyes. With the golden highlights, her hair will be natural and sun-kissed, so it won’t be super-high maintenance. For the cut, she’s growing her hair out, so we reshaped it to keep her in style while she grows it into a bob."

ERIC’S THOUGHTS
Kim's husband, Eric, was impressed with the results. "She looks even more beautiful than normal. It’s like polishing a fine diamond!"

LIAM'S THOUGHTS
Kim’s 4-year-old son, Liam, was disappointed because he was hoping Mommy would have yellow and blue hair.
