How do you do it in your family??
When it comes time for daily family dinners we generally sit in the same seat we've sat in for years - it's never questioned... But, when it comes time for a dinner party or holiday dinner I like to alternate boy-girl and I like to put the youngest ones at the head of the table... Do you have a plan when it comes to seating guests for dinner or is it first come, first sat?

Mom of Nine says,
Like you, we just have "regular seats" for dinner with an occasional switch depending on the mood of the pre-schooler or if it's someone's birthday. For holiday dinners, the kids make up placecards and they are usually in charge of setting them...the only steadfast being my hubby and I at the ends of the table with me closest to the kitchen...hmmm...wonder why? :)
