Raising Maine

Raye Tibbitts started the zine Bad Mother Chronicles in 2006 as the critical thesis component of the Stonecoast M.F.A. in Creative Writing Program. She can't seem to shake the title two years later. A writer, editor, college English instructor, and most importantly, a thirteenth generation Maine mama, Raye thrives in Midcoast with her husband, Scott and three boys where she likes to drink wine with friends, make wild cherry jam, and disappear into the woods every so often just so she can hear herself think, among other things.
