Since the start of school I have noticed a gradual change in our daily routine. It's not going to bed earlier. It's not the homework. It's not the time change. It's not the fact that it snowed this morning.

Oh no, my dear friends ... it's something much much bigger than all those.

Instead of a few envelopes and those annoying flier in our mailbox, we are suddenly being deluged by catalogs. Is Anyone else experiencing this invasion?

In the last two days, I have received approximately 10 catalogs (none of which are duplicates). And here. I have the proof!

I know that it's getting nearer the holidays and merchants are trying to get their name out for the onslaught of shoppers. But really - isn't this overkill? Can't you just send out a smaller version directly people to your website - after all, we are in the 21st century!

What do you do with all the catalogs that come to your door this time of year?

I love to look at the catalogs and dream of what I might want for Christmas. The day care kids LOVE to look at them and dream of what they want for Christmas! Bring them over here!

Will do! Do they like looking at horses? We get a large Dover catalog weekly it seems.

My girls like to cut them to pieces. They make paper dolls and decorate a house for them. Keeps 'em busy for hours.

Perhaps they can make some for me! My children don't do those things anymore, unfortunately.

My sister and I used to do that with the Sears catalog. We would cut out furniture for the entire house and the family to go in it!

I hate them, but my husband loves to "window shop" via catalog.

I do that with a few, too. They are strategically placed in the "sitting room" if you know what I mean. :)

I know. So many. And now I also get some with the names of ex-relatives who never even lived here, my parents, who never lived here and are both in Heaven, I mean, it's just out of hand. There seems to be some cross-sending, because the addresses and names don't even match up. I gave up long ago calling each place to have the names removed. Time-consuming and it just doesn't work.

I know - they don't care who gets them. Seems like such a waste.

I love to look at them. I just wish I had more time to do it. Most go into the trash without my ever taking a peek between the covers.

yes, many of them go straight to recycle.

Usually they go straight to the recycling bin. Why bother looking at what I know I can't have?

Most of it junk anyway. I don't feel I'm missing much.
