Don't Leave The Home Office Without It!

Most know I love my gadgets and last summer I wrote about some of the gadgets that I feel are essential to taking my small home-based website design business on the road. But I have a brand new one that I just love!
It’s my new iphone. Complete with a fancy red cover!
I know it’s hard to believe, but this gadget girl was the only one in the house without an ipod. So when my phone renewal came up, after much debate on whether to stick with blackberry or move to iphone, I took the plunge. And I’m loving it!
It seems every iphone owner has a tip to pass on - or an app to share. For instance, as I was sitting a a soccer game, another parent comes to me and asks “do you have Google 411” yet?
I must have looked puzzled, because he proceeded to tell me about this application (“App”) from google that you can just TALK into the phone and within seconds, google brings up the search results from your voice recognition. VERY COOL!
And then, one day I was having lunch with a friend and we both mentioned that we had heard the word “narcissist” recently to describe another person, but neither of us really knew the definition (because neither of us are literary genius’s like many of you here on this board).
“WELL - THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT!” I said, and right then and there I downloaded the Dictionary Application and within minutes, we found this: (exactly as it appears)
nar-cis-sism - noun 1. Inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity.
Psychoanalysis. Erotic gratification erived from admiration of one’s own physical ornamental attributes, being a normal condition at the infantile level of personality development.
I’ve quickly learned about itunes, where the majority of my music is ... you guessed it ... Grateful Dead, as well as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Yes, Jackson Browne, Arlo Guthrie, and several others. (Now if I could just get radio time when riding with the kids to plug this baby in and really enjoy the ride!)
I've downloaded the the facebook app, a mobile photoshop app for cropping photos right on my phone (so I can then upload them to facebook).
I have downloaded a LEVELER (not sure why I need this but what the heck - it's fun), "Shazam" which listens to a song and can identify it for you, and a few others. Oh yes, this gadget girls is loving this new gadget!
Do you have any cool “APPS” I should load onto my iphone? (I only load the free ones!)
This is one tool I will not leave my home office without.

Will have to look that up ... although I'm horrible with anything wordy. I did look at TETRIS but I didn't see the version I like (the original).

Oh what fun Gadget Girl. BTW: I believe that is a very good word to know. I once put the letter N in permanent marker on my palm to remind me at encounters.

I don't know if it's free, but SHAZAM lets you listen to a song you don't know the name of and tell you who did it, what album, and then lets you go and find it on ITunes and buy it!

Here are two of my favorite free apps. Try BUMP. You can share photos, contacts emails and other files with other iPhone owners just by bumping phones together. I also love I HEART RADIO. It let's you tune into favorite radio stations all over the country via the Internet. I love Ramiro and Pebbles weekday mornings on JAM'N 94.5.
