Raising Maine

Winner of the 1998 Des Plaines/Park Ridge NOW Feminist Fiction Writers Contest, Raye quickly abandoned her imagination for the corrupted narrative of creative nonfiction, examples of which have been published in Hausfrau Muthah-zine, Long Story Short, The Hiss Quarterly, The Coastal Journal, and MotherWords Magazine, of which she recently became editor-in-chief. She would love to break out of the mommy mold, though, and is currently at work on a long piece of CNF about the historic houses inhabited by her family throughout their 200 year residence in Maine. A writing instructor in the community colleges of Southern and Central Maine, Raye also works as a freelance reporter and editor, and contributes her opinions live on the BBC's World Have Your Say.
