Raising Maine

Kathy Eliscu is the mother of 3 grown children: 2 daughters and a son; a grown step-son; a grandmother of 2 (a boy and a girl); and a crop of 5 lovely teen-ish step-granddaughters! She is also the Mommy of a 9-year-old cairn terrier named Rebel, a 12-pounder who thinks he's bigger than he is. She enjoys bragging about all of the above to anyone who will listen and not fall asleep. She has a wonderful husband, Ted, who regularly lets her win at gin rummy. Kathy has been a nurse for over 30 years, and a freelance humor writer for Advance For Nurses, the Maine Sunday Telegram ("Boomers"), and Maine Women, a Current Publishing publication. She wrote a full-length screenplay with her late mother, columnist Margery Eliscu, one of the most joyful experiences of her writing life, and is now working toward completion of her first novel.
