The Dash of Diva - Girls' Night Out event will donate a portion of its proceeds to the Maine Women's Fund and the Press for Higher Education Scholarship Fund. A $500 scholarship to two non-traditional female students attending the University of Southern Maine this fall. The event will also serve as a drop off location for gently worn professional attire to be donated to Dress for Success. This event will also present the Dash of Inspiration Awards to honor 10 women. When the A Dash of Diva committee solicited nominations for this award, the goal was to honor those women who don't always stand out in the crowd. The committee looked for ladies who go about their business never expecting that their good deeds and quiet accomplishments will be recognized. The 10 recipients for this award include a longtime L.L. Bean employee, a pair of triathlon trainers, a cancer survivor, an adoptive mother, an aspiring writer, an academic, a farmer, a literacy advocate and a visually impaired mother. Read their stories. Each attendee will be given 10 door prize tickets and can choose which door prize boxes to drop them in. Seventy door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening, and the event DJ will announce the winning ticket numbers. All non-winning tickets will be entered into the drawing for the television.
