I am looking for a yogurt. I need to regulate my female body and get the sugar out of my system. Can anyone recommend a tasty yogurt without too much sugar?

I like Fage Greek yogurt with honey. I buy the small single serving size at Hannaford and it comes with a little cup of honey attached to the container so it's not actually in the yogurt yet. I like that because I only add as much honey to the yogurt (it's plain, unsweetened) as I want. It's quite tasty yogurt and it really doesn't need all the honey that comes with it ... and I am pleased with myself for not using it all ;-) I have also found that Fat Free Vanilla Stonyfield yogurt has less sugar than most other brands. Actually check the sugar/calorie of Stonyfield's low-fat flavors against the other yogurts. You'll see a bunch of them have less sugar than most other brands. I'm not a fan of "Light" with artificial sweeteners so these two brands are good options for me in eating less sugar. I'm curious if anyone else has favorite low-sugar brands too.

I like yogurts that do not have powdered milk mixed in. Brown cow, erewhon. Mix in your own sweetener and you have more control. For yeast problems, sweeten with FOS or Stevia would probably be best.

I love the greek yogurts, I use them for everything, dips, honey yogurt. I get the same as Wendy. For sugar I always use Agave, it taste just like sugar and does not raise your glycemic index like cane sugar, see my blogs about Agave and Greek Yogurt. We use the yogurt or soy milk in our protein drinks too. let me know if you want recipes.

I have never tried Greek, but we love Brown Cow (lowfat - I think its 2%ish). Its natural and unsweetened if you buy plain, though the flavored has evap cane in it. You can add in vanilla extract and a little honey, stevia or whatever yourself. Its also quite good (creamy and decadent tasting) with just frozen berries or with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Yum!

Greek yogurt is delicious but too expensive for more than a rare treat, for me anyway. I bought a 1 quart yogurt maker for about $15. and often make my own yogurt. When it is done, I strain it and pour off the excess whey, which can be used to make bread, etc. Tastes very like the Greek yogurt "Fage". My family's usual commercial yogurt is Stoneyfield, which I like because it is just lightly sweetened with real sugar instead of being loaded with high fructose corn syrup or non-nutritive sweeteners.
